AURA Vector Consulting
Dr. Eric von Krumreig Hill
AURA Vector Consulting is Dr. Eric von Krumreig Hill, one of the world's leading professionals in acoustic emission nondestructive testing and evaluation. As a leader in his field, Dr. Hill provides the needed edge to advance any aeropace application through nondestructive evaluation and structural health monitoring of aerospace systems using acoustic emission flaw growth data plus statistical and neural network analyses. Innovative research applications have been developed in the following three areas: (1) low proof load prediction of ultimate strengths in metal and composite structures, (2) low cycle prediction of fatigue lives in metal structures, and (3) the implementation of in-flight fatigue crack monitoring systems for aging aircraft.
AURA Vector was originally formed as a corporation in the state of Florida on Saturday, 24 March 1956 by Fosdick Emerson Hill, Dr. Hill’s father. At that time his father worked for Pan Am at Patrick Air Force Base on the down range tracking facilities for the upcoming space program. In the fall of 1967 his father legally changed his name to Ludwig Wilhelm von Krumreig in honor of his maternal grandfather, Edward Ludwig Krumreig, a Baptist minister. Like many of the early pioneers in the U.S. space program, Dr. Hill’s father subsequently became a Fellow of the American Astronautical Society (listed immediately following Werner von Braun). Dr. Hill named his sole proprietorship AURA Vector Consulting to honor the memory of his now deceased father.
